Welly Yang

Thuy (Broadway)

Welly Yang is thrilled to be returning to Miss Saigon after a year and a half of exploring the world. During that time he got to fly on a magic carpet while touring East Asia in the title role of Cole Porter's Aladdin. He then went on to tour North America and Europe with Peter Sellars in the world premiere of John Adam's/June Jordan's I Was Looking at the Ceiling and Then I Saw the Sky, where he received critical acclaim for his portrayal of a civil rights attorney. Most recently, he returned from Taiwan where he was pursuing a recording career and studying the Mandarin and Taiwanese dialects. Other credits include Artpark, Candlewood Playhouse and several episodes of CTW's Ghostwriter. A second-generation Taiwanese-American, Welly is also an honors graduate in political science from Columbia University and hopes to one day step onto that stage as well.
