Simon was born in Cardiff and trained at the Mountview Theatre School in London graduating in 1982. After playing such diverse roles as John Proctor in T he Crucible, Mark Antony in Julius Caesar and Tony in West Side Story, he landed his first major role with the London Players' Theatre Company. Following this he played Dick Whittington at the Shaw Theatre, London and Alhambra Theatre, Branford, Prince in Snow White at the Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton, the Narrator in Paddington Bear's Magical Musical Tour, Blondel at the Old Vic and Aldwych Theatres and Eddie in Mack and Mabel at the Aldwych Theatre.

Simon's performance as Young Elvis in the original London cast of the award-winning musical Are You Lonesome Tonight? at the Phoenix Theatre was greeted with great critical acclaim. He then starred as Marius in the RSC's Les Miserables at the Palace Theatre which was followed by the lead role on They're Playing Our Song at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin. Simon's most recent appearance has been as Kangaroo in the musical Just So based on the Rudyard Kipling stories, directed by Julia Mackenzie.

His television credits include Sink or Swim (BBC), Ragtime (Channel 4), 3-2-1 (Yorkshire), Kenny Everett (BBC), Telethon (ITV), The Chris Stewart Show (BBC), The Royal Command Show (1985 and 1987), Guinness Hall of Fame (BBC), Wednesday at Eight (Thames), several commercials, and most recently has had appearances on European television (Spain, Germany and Czechoslovakia).

Simon's recording experience includes Anthony - The Temptation of St. Anthony (Zeus), Mike Read's album based upon the poetry of Sir John Betjamin, No Good Boyo in Under Milk Wood (produced by George Martin and Rod Edwards 1988).

Simon is also a prolific songwriter and is keen to further his recording experience in the future.
