Following a short career behind the window in a building society and an impressive list of theatre credits in her home town of Coventry, Nikki only decided in 1988 to make the theatre her full-time profession Alter gaining her equity card, she landed the role of Maid Marion in Maidstone’s Robin Hood in 1988’s pantomime season. Nikki made her West End debut as the female lead (Mrs Stone) in The Devil and Mr Stone a new musical based on the Faust legend - written by Dennis Pickford book and lyrics and Stephen Keeling music at the Donmar Warehouse. She then toured Britain as the narrator female lead in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat when her glorious voice won her one of the leading roles in the West End musical Bernadette. She in fact, played Bernadette’s mother - a role for which she had to age up ten years! Her earlier work includes Liesel in The Sound of Music, Chava in Fiddler On the Roof, Tuptim in The King and I, Louise in Carousel and Minnie Fay in Hello Dolly.
