Maik studied voice, acting and dancing at the Stage School of Music, Dance and Drama in Hamburg, Germany. His first role was in The Rock Horror Picture Show at the Neues Theater Hamburg. Subsequently, he performed the role of the Teen Angel in the German premiere of Grease at the Musiktheater Reeperbahn and the role of Hermann in Sweet Charity at the St. Pauli Theater. In 1993, Maik created the role of Mark Winner in the world premiere of Eric Woolson's Gaudi at the Stadttheater Aachen. In the summer of '94, he did a concert of Bernstein's Mass in the Meistersingerhalle N?rnberg. Maik can be heard on the recording for Gaudi (OC), Being Alive - The Art of German Musical Stars, and Shades of Night - Musial Goes Rock.
