Lea made her theater debut at the age of 7 in Repertory Philippines’ The King and I and has since appeared in Annie, The Sound of Music, The Goodbye Girl, Paper Moon, The Fantasticks, Les Miserables, My Fair Lady, Into the Woods, Grease and They’re Playing Our Song, but is best known for her portrayal of Kim in Miss Saigon, for which she garnered the Laurence Olivier Award for her performance in London, and the Tony, Drama Desk, Out Critics Circle and Theatre World awards for her performance on Broadway. At the age of 10, she recorded her first album, Small Voice, which earned a gold record. Since then, she has recorded The King and I (Tuptim) and The Little Tramp (Oona) and solo recordings such as Lea Salonga, In Love, By Heart, Lea Salonga LIVE and The Christmas Album. On film she has sung the female lead roles in Walt Disney animated features Aladdin and Mulan, and on television played Geri in Hallmark Hall of Fame’s Redwood Curtain. She has also performed in concert in her native Philippines and other parts of the world. Lea is delighted to be back at the Broadway Theatre, and dedicates this performance to everyone she loves, especially Momma, Gerry, and her Healthy Tree. +AMDG
