John was born in Glasgow and trained at the United States International University , San Diego, California studying musical theatre. Theatre credits include the leading role opposite Elaine Page in Anything Goes at the Prince Edward Theatre, London; Chris in Miss Saigon at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, London. The lead role opposite Stephanie Powers in Matador at the Queens Theatre, London; Raoul in The Phantom Of The Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre, London; Brandon in Patrick Hamilton's Rope at the Minerva Theatre, Chichester and Claude in the recent revival of Hair at the Old Vic. He has also played Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard (Alephy Theatre - London). Television credits include Live and Kicking for the BBC and The Movie Game also for the BBC. John's recordings include the cast album of Hair (EMI); Godspell (TER Records); The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber (TER Records); Matador (Sony); concept album for a new musical Red Red Rose, Phantom of the Opera (TER Records), Grease (TER Records). He has also playedJohn is now preparing material for a solo album release.
