Joseph Anthony Foronda

The Engineer (1st and 2nd USA National Tour, Broadway)

Joseph recently appeared on Broadway as The Engineer and was an original cast member of Miss Saigon's first national tour. On Broadway he originated the role of Lord Buntaro in James Clavell's Shogun: The Musical which premiered at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Regional credits include The Fantasticks (El Gallo), The Mikado (Ko-Ko), Side By Side By Sondheim, Jacques Brel, Pippin (West Coast Premiere) and The Most Happy Fella with John Raitt (California Music Theatre). Joseph's vocal characterizations have been heard on numerous syndicated radio programs. He has done commercials for Chase Manhattan Bank and Hormel foods. A graduate with honors of San Jose State University's Music Department, Joseph has also completed the Los Angeles Civic Light Opera Musical Theatre Workshop. He has worked on numerous theatrical productions with the Asian American Theatre Project and the Music Theatre Lab at the Los Angeles Theatre Center. He has also performed improv with the Cardboard City Revue and the Second City West Workshops in San Francisco and Los Angeles. In his fifteen year performing career as a singer-actor-choreographer-musician, Joseph's favorite role is "Daddy" to his children Macey, Aaron and Moriah. His favorite leading lady by far is his wife Laura Weiss Foronda.
