Hinton Battle, two-time Tony Award winner, made his Broadway debut at 16 creating the role of the Scarecrow in The Wiz, and received rave reviews in Bob Fosse's Dancin' and as James Thunder Early in Michael Bennett's Dreamgirls. He was awarded his first Tony for Sophisticated Ladies and later starred in its tour of the USSR. The Tap Dance earned Hinton his second Tony, a Fred Astaire Award and the NAACP Image Award. He headlined Ain't Misbehavin' in Las Vegas and Stardust at the Kennedy Center. Television credits include the NBC mini-series 13 Days to Glory, The Tracey Ullman Show, and The Boys Special on ABC. Hinton hosted his own video dance show ID (It's Dance) and appeared at The Presidential Inauguration, Tap in America, the Ace, Tony and Grammy Award, Happy Birthday Hollywood and Night of 100 Stars. He has performed his act to sold out audiences in Japan. As a choreographer, he has performed with Anita Baker, Sister Sledge and Klymax and created videos for Rick Astley, Starpoint, Cherrelle, Tommy Page and The Boys. He choreographed for the group New World, which was Adult Dance grand prize winner on the recent Star Search finals.
