David Shannon is currently playing Chris in London's Miss Saigon, which means he joins the small circle of performers who have been in all three of Boublil and Schonberg's musicals. Before joining Saigon, David played Guilluame in Martin Guerre, and he has also been in two productions of Les Miserables. He first joined the Dublin/Edinburgh tour understudying Enjolras, then he was asked to perform in London, this time understudying Marius. David also appeared in the Les Miserables Tenth Anniversary Concert.

David has performed all over the world: he played Captain Walker in Germany's production of Tommy, and David has done a number of performances in Ireland. Some of these credits include Rick in a Slice of Saturday Night, Danny in Grease, Isaac/Potipher in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Frederic in The New Pirates of Penzance, the Scarecrow in The Wiz, and Lt. Cable in South Pacific.

David has also performed with two bands, Graffiati and Industrial Velvet, who he has written original material with. Industrial Velvet has since changed their name to the Persuaders and have asked David to contribute some vocals on their album. Currently, he is working on releasing his own solo album, after recently recording a song for the Eurovision song contest, written by Hale and Pace. The making of the song was aired on the BBC in May.

David is planning on extending his tour in Saigon to full time status--he takes over the main Chris schedule in November 1998, and will stay until July of next year.
