Claire Moore

Claire was born in Lancashire, the daughter of a jazz musician. She worked in cabaret a round the North-West before joining the Royal Northern College of Music to study Opera and Vocal Studies, where she trained from 1978 to 1982. Since then she has worked in repertory playing Julie in Victoria Wood's Talent and has appeared in Jesus Christ Superstar. She played Star in A Life Of My Own at the Edinburgh Festival and then came to London to appear in Camelot at the Apollo, Victoria and in March 1984 took over the leading role of Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors at the Comedy Theatre. In 1985 Claire joined the McKellen/Petherbridge Company at the National Theatre appearing in The Duchess of Malfi and The Critic and playing leading roles of Felicity in The Real Inspector Hound and Anya in The Cherry Orchard. On television Claire has been seen in an episode of Wood and Walters, Rachel in Granada TV's rock musical Visiting Day and Have You Met Miss Jones? a two handed musical by Rodgers and Hart, in which she starred with Denis Lawson.

Claire is a frequent broadcaster and has been heard many times in Songs from the Shows on Radio 2. Prior to Miss Saigon Claire completed two years in the starring role of Christine in The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre.
