Billy Porter

John (Broadway)

Billy is a native of Pittsburgh, PA. He is a graduate of Carnegie-Mellon University where he received a B.F.A. in drama. Broadway: Miss Saigon, Five Guys Named Moe, Grease (original cast) and Smokey Joe's Cafe. Off-Broadway and regional: Romance in Hard Times, The Merchant of Venice, House of Lear, Angels in America, and The Wiz (Director). Film and Televison: "Rosie O' Donnell Show," "The Tonight Show," "Keenen Ivory Wayans," "Soul Train," "Another World," Twisted. His concerts include Opening act for Rosie O'Donnell and Aretha Franklin, Carnegie Hall and various AIDS benefits throughout the U.S. His recordings include Debut solo CD "Untitled" on A&M Records, Grease (Revival Cast Album), Saturn Returns, Gershwin and Sondheim Albums, Hercules (Disney) and Anastasia (Warner Bros). Billy is currently working on music for his sophomore CD project. Billy is proud to be returning to Miss Saigon after having been a part of the original cast. Thank you God for the gift.
