Aura is from Quezon City, Philippines, where one of her childhood dreams was to become a pianist. Already at the age of 5, her father was giving her piano lessons, and she soon composed her first love song, which won first prize in a competition. She continued to study piano and voice at the University of the Philippines. During her studies, she played the role of Tuptim in The King and I at the Repertory Philippines Theatre. Other credits include Stop The World. . .I Want To Get Off and Luisa in The Fantasticks, which she performed in Manila and in Cairo. Before her engagement in Miss Saigon, she was singing with the pop-jazz group The Opera, and recorded the album Can We Just Stop and Talk A While. She also could be seen in various TV shows. Aura loves to compose songs and write lyrics. In her free time, she often takes long walks. She loves animals, and back in the Philippines, she has seven dogs, three cats and an aquarium with goldfish.
