John (Broadway)

Alton F. White, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, attended The Cincinnati School for Creative and Performing Arts and The Cincinnati College Conservatory of Musical Theatre. After touring the Orient as a lead vocalist in a USO tour, Alton moved to Chicago to dance wit the Gus Giodano Jazz Dance Chicago. While in Chicago, favorite roles included Teen Angel/Johnny Casino in Grease, The Arbiter in Chess, Curtis Taylor Jr. in the second national tour of Dreamgirls and work at the prestigious Goodman Theatre. After being chosen as an original cast member of Miss Saigon, Alton relocated to New York in January 1991, and after being an understudy for a year, he is thrilled to assume the role of John. Alton would like to thank his parents, Paul and Marietta; his extremely supportive five sisters, one brother and special friends; but most of all, God, who is the true joy and strength of his life.
